I want to take this opportunity to express how satisfied I’ve been as your client for the sale of my 85-acre pine tree stand in Bogue Chitto, MS. Over the years, I’ve received numerous solicitations in the mail regarding the property, but I vividly recall receiving yours in late 2004 and how it stood out as being more professional. I took the time to visit your website, and what impressed me was not just your forestry knowledge but, more importantly, your banking and fmance background, which enabled immediate dialogue between us regarding timber investments in general.
I knew when we first walked over the property in 2004 that you’d be the one I’d choose for the eventual clearcut even though it was almost six years away at the time. When I told you in late November of 2009 that I was ready to “pull the trigger,” you went right to work. The prospectus you designed could not have been more professional, and it enabled both a “quick glance” at what the sale entailed and was supported by an extensive cruise report. You kept me up-to-date on the marketing, including email reminders to the buyers who received those prospectus materials. The value of a well-qualified and professional forester is never driven home more
than when the variation in bids is ascertained and analyzed. In my case, the low bid was only $110,900, while the high bid was $215,126, a nearly 100% difference! In fact, the high bid was 11.5% higher than the 2nd highest bid of $192,916. I think those results speak volumes for the need for a well-qualified forester who will maximize the marketing exposure of a given tract.
During the clear-cut, you kept me well informed with extensive logging reports as the cut progressed. I found them very easy-to-read and follow, and I especially liked the aerial maps you provided outlining the stand very clearly and graphically showing what had been cut, the percentage completion, as well as an anticipated completion timeframe. Best of all, this information was all provided via email in professionally-prepared PDF format.
I would highly recommend your services to anyone needing forestry consultation, and especially to serve as forester for conducting a sale.
